It is one thing to believe what others say about a lens, but another thing to actually test the lens in the field. Below you will find field tests on different lenses I have owned. I try to test them as accurately as possible, but ofcourse there are variations. I also try to test each lens at f4-f5.6 or wide open, f8, and f16 to have a good compairison. I have included as many of my results as I could so that you have a good basis to judge lens performance for yourself. All tests were shot in the same time frame (Noon-3pm), using a tripod, cable release, lens hood, and Konica 200ISO print film. All Photos were scaned on a MicroTek SCSI ScanmakerE3. The full picturers were scanned at 72dpi, and the magnified selections at 300dpi.
